The Mint Theatre Company presents The National Asian America Theatre Company production of Anton Chekhovs IVANOV through Sept. 4, in its fifth floor space at 311 W. 43rd St.

IVANOV shows the struggles of a man fighting with his own depression as he embarks on an affair with a much younger woman after his wife dies. Ivanov looks to the younger woman to cure him of his emotional crisis, only to find out too late that she cannot save him.

The production transfers intact from the original NAATCO staging at Bernie West Theatre, where it originally ran from May 20 through June 4, 2005. The work, adapted from a translation by Paul Schmidt, is directed by Mint artistic director Jonathan Bank.

Arthur Acua and Thom Sesma join the orginal cast which features Michi Barall, Joel de la Fuente, Mel Duane Gionson, Keiko Green, Deepti Gupta, Mia Katigbak, C.S. Lee, Orville Mendoza, Rochele Tillman and Virginia Wing.

Acua, who plays the role of Doctor Lvov, recently guest-starred in the Comedy Central series STELLA, and has appeared on Law & Order, As the World Turns, Third Watch, Anniversary and Batang West Side. His favorite roles on the New York stage have been in Antigone, the Obie award winning production of The Romance of Magno Rubio, Kwatz, Dogeaters, Empress of China, and Yerma. He has just completed filming for two independent feature films: The Blue Hour directed by Francisco Aliwalas and Rogodon (Pilgrim) with directors Keith Sicat and Sari Dalena.

The creative team includes set design by Sarah Lambert, costume design by Elly van Horne, lighting design by Stephen Petrilli and sound design by Jane Shaw.
