Here is a shot of the Chinese Launch Complex near Jiuquan. The complex is located north of Ching Hai Hu, behind the Chi Lien Mountains.

Astronaut Leroy Chiao's Space Blog-Egypt: As we were flying over Egypt, I saw that we were in a good alignment with the sun to capture sunglint photos. This technique is very useful for highlighting areas on land with standing water and for observing wave patterns that propagate below the surface of open water (called internal waves). In this case, the sunglint provided a very beautiful portrait. The lake appears as if filled with mercury.

As we were flying over Egypt, I saw that we were in a good alignment with the sun to capture sunglint photos. Judith Hill has been tapped by multi-platinum-selling singer, songwriter and actor Josh Groban as support for his fall "In The Round" tour, which kicks off tonight at Taco Bell Arena in Boise, ID. In addition to opening the show, Hill will join Groban during his set for two songs: "The Prayer" and "Remember When It Rains." Judith, who contributed backing vocals to three tracks on Groban's latest album, All That Echoes, will also be playing a series of headline dates this fall. Astronaut Leroy Chiao's Space Blog-Greece: I had read about the Rion-Antirion bridge in Greece, which was recently completed. By some definitions, it is the worlds largest suspension bridge. I had first noticed it at night, each of the pylons was glowing blue as we flew over. I managed a photo some time later, using a 180mm lens, but I
wanted to see the details using an 800mm. Finally, the weather, our orbital track and the daylight cycle came together and I was able to get this shot. The detail is striking. One can see the suspension cables on the bridge.

Astronaut Leroy Chiao's Space Blog-in the Russian Orlan Suit

Hi Lia,

We will install two experiment packages and associated cabling. One is a European robotics experiment called "Rokviss" and the second is a biological exposure experiment, called "Biorisk."

Big difference between the suits is the operating pressure and the soft goods. Because of these factors, the Russian suit is less flexible and takes more effort to move the joints and fingers. However, their tasks are designed to be less intense than US tasks, so it should be fine.
