Battlestar Galactica's Grace Park Announces the Nominees for the 2007 AZN Asian Excellence Awards

Los Angeles, CA (May 11, 2007) - At a press conference held yesterday in Los Angeles, Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica), co-host of the upcoming 2007 AZN Asian Excellence Awards presented by JCPenney, announced the nominees for this year's awards presentation. The show, which honors outstanding achievements of Asian and Asian Americans, will air on AZN Television on Monday, May 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

New York Asian American International Film Festival Celebrates 30 Years - July 19-28, 2007

The New York Asian American International Film Festival turns 30 this July.

"We are proud to be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the New York Asian American International Film Festival," said Acting Executive Director John Woo. "As the longest-running festival devoted to screening the works by and about the Asian and Asian American communities, we have been able to introduce audiences to many highly regarded directors, and our mission is to remain one of the premier festivals for spotlighting the work of rising filmmakers."

Presented by Asian CineVision, in association with the Asia Society, AAIFF takes place July 1928, 2007, at the Asia Society (725 Park Avenue, at 70th St) in New York.

"Asian CineVision is marking its 30th anniversary with a phenomenal line-up of cutting edge films," said Rachel Cooper, Asia Society's Director of Cultural Programs. "The Asia Society is thrilled to continue our longstanding partnership and congratulate Asian CineVision on this milestone anniversary."

Launched by former US Vice President Al Gore to combat Global Warming, with partner Kevin Wall the producer of Live 8, Gore hopes that finally, this can be the tipping point of a "Green Revolution" worldwide to save the planet.

View images of the Shanghai and Tokyo concerts, part of a series that took place over the 24-hour period across seven continents.

Ang Lee's LUST, CAUTION

Tony Leung and Tang Wei star in Ang Lee's latest film called LUST, CAUTION, an espionage thriller set in WWII-era Shanghai.

Academy Award-winning Director Ang Lee ("Brokeback Mountain," "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" ) has a new film debuting in late September with an intriguing title "LUST, CAUTION" set in World War II-era Shanghai.

The film is an espionage thriller based on the short story by Eileen Chang. "LUST, CAUTION" stars Tony Leung ("Hero," "In the Mood for Love") as Mr. Yee, a powerful political figure in 1940s Shanghai. Tang Wei, a rising star in mainland China, makes her feature film debut as Wang Jiazhi, a young woman who gets swept up in a dangerous game of emotional intrigue with Mr. Yee. The cast includes Joan Chen and Wang Leehom.
