Congratulations to Linda Yee for her latest award honoring her excellence in television news coverage.
AsianConnections commends the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) for awarding broadcast television news reporter Linda Yee with a 2007 Excellence in Television News Coverage Award (Unlmited Subject Matter category).
Her tireless dedication and professionalism to the field of broadcast television news is inspiring to those of us who have had the honor to work side by side with her. She is a role model for all of us as well as for future generations.
Linda joins other talented professionals who were honored in eleven categories at the AAJA's national convention this past weekend in Miami, Florida.
As I write this, Linda is busy working on the news of the day.
Here are two of her reports at KPIX-TV (courtesy of CBS Broadcasting and AOL Video), on the 125th anniversary of the Chinese Exclusion Act.

Her outstanding reporting career began in the early 70's when there were few Asian Americans or women in newsrooms across America.
She has earned numerous awards including eleven Emmy nominations and four Emmy awards from the Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Linda graduated with a B.A. in journalism from San Francisco State University.
She was a reporter for the Fremont Argus in 1973 and contributed features to San Francisco's East/West Chinese American Journal from 1972-1977.
During the same period from 1973 to 1977 she was a news producer and writer for KRON-TV Channel 4 (NBC), later working for KPIX-TV and KGO-TV (ABC) until 1980. She returned as a broadcast news reporter at KRON-TV from 1980 to 2005 and is currently a broadcast news reporter at KPIX-TV(CBS).
