For Love of Money by Marilyn Tam
Have you heard this before? “Love or Business, you have to choose.” The message is direct - you have to decide what you value more, something/one you love or your work/business. Actually, there is a more factual statement – Love is Good Business. February is the month of love. A great deal of thought and energy will be spent on expressions of love, usually for a romantic partner. The truth in the old axiom, Love makes the World Go Round, applies to all aspects of life, not only to...

From a Facebook member and an organizer of vigils for Laura Ling and Euna Lee:

Well we are a week away from the 5 city vigils.

You can find the info on the group page, in the events section.

The Cities are:
New York, NY
Orlando, FL
Chicago, IL
Portland, OR
Los Angeles, CA

If you have friends or family in any of those areas let them know.

This has been a coordinated effort since the group started.
I can not thank you enough for letting people know about Euna and Laura.
The arrival of Roxana, to the States, will be covered locally and Nationwide.
This is the time to really start calling and emailing your local news and national news outlets. News papers, TV, web, ect.
We really need to make this known.
We want to be proactive in getting the story known and the vigils to be covered.

The trial date has been set for June 4th, for Laura and Euna.
So time is running out.
We need more people to KNOW.

The message needs to be delivered by you.
You need to contact friends and family.
You need to ask them, will you share this news with your friends and family.
Let them know about the group.

NPR just had a segment on Euna and Laura.
They said Euna and Laura's story needs more coordination.
This is a message to me and you.
We need to work together on making what we know into a national news daily update.

North Korea has two young Women in cells, with no contact to the outside world.
These Women have families that need them.
They were taken on very weak circumstances by a Country that does not value
human life, the way most of the World does.

So plain and simple, we have to roll up our collective sleeves and push the
the issue of covering Euna and Laura's difficult situation.
June 4th will be here fast.
So we know what has to be done.
The message is clear to you and me.

Now it's time to jump head first into the media pool.
Share your knowledge of Euna and Laura with the media.
Ask them to cover the story.
Ask them you would like to hear updates.

We have worked on this since March 17th.
There is no time to waste now and give up does mean anything to you.
The chains that bond us are stong and well oiled.
Let's crank out the the word on Laura and Euna.

There was great news in the begining of this week for Roxana Saberi.
Now she will be arriving in the States soon.
You should be able to call the media and ask them to piggyback Euna Lee and Laura Ling's
situation with the return of Roxana.
They could start before she is in the States.

We are helping others, that most do not know personally.
You are really stepping out and doing your best for two strangers.
It's really amazing!

Thank you so much.

So like my friend Tone Loc said:
"Let's do it"

If you have any questions or would like to go over things feel free to contact me.

Peace,
B

An excerpt of a message posted April 23, 2009 from Facebook member Brendan McShane with invitation to join in a candlelight vigil Tuesday, April 28th:

The media has power.

Individuals have power through knowledge.

History has proven this fact.

The vigils will shine the light through that tube, that the masses of people around the world watch.

The Bay Area, you have the first leg.
The baton is in your hands.

Del Campo Courgars, you are coming together.
Students, faculty the community united to help Laura and Euna.

So many many times, when students and their schools have vigils, it's already too late.

Well it is far from late.

SIX WEEKS is a long time alone.

We will not let it turn into 5 to 10 years alone.

NO.

Not while we are on watch.

So please, rest up this weekend.
Be with family and friends and let them know about Euna Lee and Laura Ling.

Tuesday, April 28th we are showing up for these women that we know about.

In word, prayers and songs we will express the warm nature we have and let the viewers know about Laura and Euna.

We need help.
Tuesday we are asking for that help.

Peace,
B

That's right . . . VIGILS.
The Current Media Building in San Francisco is the first location.

We really need a big turn out.
The entire Bay Area, please show support.
Euna Lee and Laura Ling have been in prison cells for 6 weeks.
Most media outlets have not covered the story at all.
This is where you are needed.

It will be held at 6:30pm this Tuesday the 28th.

I need a person who would like to represent the group to the media.
Please send me an email, here on Facebook if you are interested.

The second location will be at Del Campo High School.
Laura Ling's old High School. That vigil will start at 7pm.

All information can be found on the event page:
"CANDLELIGHT VIGIL IN SAN FRANCISCO and DEL CAMPO HIGH - Tuesday, April 28th
For Laura Ling and Euna Lee "

Bring extra candles and perhaps something to catch the drippings.

If you have friends or family in either area, please let them know and encourage them to help.
It will mean so much.
