SNAP CRACKLE AND POPS: a quiet, contemplative show of abstract works on paper and canvas by Koji Moriya (Snap), Kazuaki Hatcho (Crackle), and Arlan Huang (Pops) will be on view from March 10 through April 3 at GALLERYONETWENTYEIGHT on the lower East Side of Manhattan.

SNAP CRACKLE AND POPS is a quiet, contemplative show featuring abstract works on paper and canvas by Koji Moriya (Snap), Kazuaki Hatcho (Crackle), and Arlan Huang (Pops).

On view through April 3 at GALLERYONETWENTYEIGHT, Moriya, Hatcho and Huang's art is rooted in old school; their personal art journals are recorded through a dedicated work ethic.

Arlan Huangs paintings have matured into an interlocking weave of impasto ribbons. The soft grays and tints appear to be traveling as a single stroke punctuated with incomplete Os. Abstract and open, Huang's large scale paintings cast a meditative spell.

Kazuaki Hatchos graphites on paper have a neo-surreal air and upon closer investigation, mask themes of psychological tension, inverting standards of ugly and beauty.

Traced from his paintings, Koji Moriyas transfers on canvas create mysterious markings resembling his brush strokes but clearly create a look, which is other. The artist describes his drawings as a place between finish and unfinished but complete.
