Synopsis: Sin has lived his entire life with one goal. Twenty years ago, his family tried to defect to South Korea, only to be sent back to the North as the South Korean government turned its back on his family due to concerns over its relationship with China. In the process of being handed over to the North Korean military, Sin witnessed the execution of his family, followed by the separation from his only sister, Choi Myung-ju. Betrayed by both Koreas, Sin fosters deep-rooted hatred and plots to vent his fury on the Korean peninsula...When a vessel carrying nuclear missile guidance kits is attacked by pirates 220km northeast of Ji Long Port, Taiwan, the National Intelligence Service learns that the vessel was stolen by Sin. Secret agent Naval Lieutenant Kang Se-jong is dispatched and catches up with Sin in Russia. Kang Se-jong meets Sin\'s elder sister Choi Myung-ju, now a prostitute in Russia, and learns of the family\'s troubled history. During his pursuit, Kang Se-jong begins to feel compassion toward Sin, but this does not hinder his determination to apprehend him...With the missile guidance kits in his possession, Sin attempts to execute his plan.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2006, Kayo Hatta's Fishbowl, a decidedly off-kilter look at contemporary American life in Hawaii, premieres on PBS.
(San Francisco)--On Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 10 PM (check local listings), PBS series Independent Lens co-presents with the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) Kayo Hatta's Fishbowl , a short film that offers a decidedly off-kilter look at contemporary American life.
This final film from the late acclaimed Hawaiian filmmaker Kayo Hatta (Picture Bride) was adapted from Lois-Ann Yamanaka's Wild Meat and the Bully Burgers , and set in the sleepy plantation town of Hilo, Hawaii. Fishbowl is about a brooding 11-year-old named Lovey who is trying to be anything but herself. Ridiculed by the popular girls and picked on by her teacher for speaking pidgin English, Lovey escapes into a world of pop fantasy daydreams. Add to the mix an obsession with the Captain and Tennille, her effeminate best friend Jerry, and an eventful Halloween party and one soon realizes that this is anything but a Disney Channel view of modern youth.
