YAN CAN RESTAURANT
Rancho Santa Margarita, California

Even for Asian food enthusiasts, it is unusual to encounter Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Chinese Kung Pao Chicken, Korean BBQ beef and Thai noodles all at the same meal.

But now you can for Martin Yan, with his mastery of the numerous cuisines of Asia, is now offering modern Pan Asian cuisine for the healthy American diner at his new restaurant Yan Can in Rancho Santa Margarita. The casual dining restaurant is perfect for people who want the freshness of food wokked to order, and the speed of an express kitchen.

Offering traditional Asian dishes with an emphasis on healthy ingredients is the mantra in Martin Yans kitchen.

I have tried a lot of new concepts for this restaurant and have created food for healthy living, says Mr. Yan. All the meats selected are extra lean and stir fried with a minimal amount of natural oil. Dishes are offered with either white or Martins special carrot brown rice.

Healthy living evidently not only includes tasty food but also a good party as Mr. Yan graciously allowed the restaurants grand opening event to be a fundraiser for the nearby Trabuco High Schools grad night. As guests strolled about the dining area, an elegant fusion of the Asian cultures adorns the walls to set a modern tone.

Everything at Yan Can is built to guide the diner on his or her own culinary tour from the welcome sign that introduces you to the restaurants theories of tasting Asian food to the large menu that highlights Martins favorites.

All of the dishes are described with his narratives and the helpful serving staff can further guide you through the selection process. With good nutritious food, a distinct multiethnic flavor and of course Martin Yans own personal flair, Yan Can is a terrific addition to Orange Countys culinary offerings.

This is the fourth Yan Can restaurant and the second in Southern California. Yan Can in Rancho Santa Margarita is located in the Plaza El Paseo shopping center at El Portal and El Paseo and can be reached at (949) 766-2822.
